New Plymouth Boys High School Memorial Block

New Plymouth Boys High School had limited space for additional teaching spaces, near to the hub of the campus. Creative use of a steeply sloping site adjacent to the existing memorial music suite enabled four innovative learning spaces. An operable wall allows flexibility of use and teaching styles. Specialist areas were provided for audio languages labs. A previously under utilised basement area was developed into a very effective food technology suite. A decorative yet robust screen provides shelter to the entry doors, while the outdoor plinth serves to protect the building from traffic and provides robust seating.
